I tried searching but couldn't find what I needed so I ask of you this. I just purchased a Cobra 29 LTD (chrome). It has the talkback feature on it. How does this work? I appreciate any help. Thanks.

When you turn it on, and key up the mic, it allows you to hear yourself. Unless you have echo, it's useless IMO, as it's typically used to set the echo.

That's what I was thinking. But when I turn the talkback knob all the way to one side or the other, I hear nothing when I talk.

You may need to crank your Mic Gain up all the way to hear the Talkback on your radio...Cobra's TB is not very loud, but there is a Mod you can do to improve the volume on Talkback...It's very easy to do, and requires only a small jumper wire soldered across two resisters which are "side by side"...
Just remove the bottom cover of the radio, and with the face of the radio pointed towards you, look in the bottom right hand corner of the board right behind where the Mic connector is and you will see two resisters marked R21 and R77....All you have to do is solder a small jumper wire across the top of those two resisters! That's it...Talk back will now be allot louder.
Check the pictures here to see the actual location and what they look like.

Before you go workin on a radio..DONT......Get a cb shop to do it and show you at the same time cause seeing you dont know how to do the talkback thing i doubt you should be messin with the guts of a radio..

While I very much appreciate the response of how I can do any mods, I'm not going to open this up.
