I know exactly all of those feelings. Only difference is we weren't married and I don't want to go to school, I just want my own business(es). You get fed up with anything if it's not your true vocation.

Think about it. If you win the lottery, would you still do this? If not, then it's not your true vocation.

I know if I won the lottery and money were not a problem I would still want to drive a flat top 359 with straight pipes and I would still use the jakes unnecesarily at every intersection. PRRRRRR downshift PRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR PFFF.

But only do it as a hobby, not have my income solely depend on being a truck driver, this industry gets to you.

I would like to open my own custom car shop. As of right now I don't have that kind of knowledge but am learning as I've been doing my own cars. Where I am I could get away with it as there's car shows all over the island. Its just a shame they won't reopen a drag strip around here, but we got the circular track.

And yes Oi! I would drive a nice long peterbilt around town for fun just like you. I can go back to school if I want to easily its just knowing if I could manage doing it over again. I'd rather look into a trade school and learn things hands on and not from a book

I'd love to own a nightclub. For the sole purpose of having my own office out the back.

Yea like counting car and even graveyard cars. My uncle actually owns two night clubs which I worked for a few times as a bouncer... The money he makes is awesome. But then again its one of "those" night clubs and dont think the gf would be too happy LOL.

Currently I have a 67 firebird and a 57 pickup. The firebirds about 50% down and the truck well needs a lot more but its running good now

What is so stressful about LTL? Coming from Pepsi, customers, out of dates, commission driven pay, and store managers make it very stressful. Especially at 45-50k/yr. From the outside, LTL seems like a dream.

From the outside it sounds way better than otr to new drivers with no actual experience and only a vague idea of what to expect based on input from drivers on this forum. (myself included in said driver group) the money and home time sound alluring, im not sure of the downfalls to the ltl side of things.
the experience of each driver seems for the most part to be based on attitude and personal preferences. personally, I have no idea which i'd like better, otr or ltl.

Downside is you're still a truck driver. Honest work and wins you some tough guy/blue collar hero cred in some circles, but dream it ain't.

Although Pepsi does sound like it sucks...I'd need more like twice that to happily put up with that crapola.

Only way I'd go back to sleeping in trucks is if I was working for myself. "I got something better to do this week and don't need the money...ill go trucking next week." That sort of thing. Living in a cab most of the month under somebody else's thumb making them rich? Forget it.
