If a guy pulled a refer not sure why you wouldn't run everything off the refer battery. Or if I was that much of a tight butt I don't wanna idle truck when its that cold I'd buy a small generator to run block heater

1,000 bucks in fuel????? were are you getting fuel at??? far as I know a dd15 burns 1 gl/hr at idle so that would equal out to 8 gl of fuel. fuel were i am at is 3.95/gal so 8*3.95=31.60 in fuel
asssuming your doing a 34 hour reset that would be 34*3.95=134.30 in fuel
i will be in current spot for the next 4 days so even using mwere i am at 96*3.95=379.20
so pray tell were are you getting your fuel a -
I use to start a lot of different trucks when it was cold, 0 F and below. Even when not plugged in a Detroit would start no problems, a Cummins turn over for 10 seconds wait for 60 seconds, starts, Cat a shot of either If it does not start pull into shop, Either cans at that time were Yellow we called them color coded.
Just a thought!truckman29801 Thanks this. -
Two things that are hard on a motor- cold weather starts and excess idling. Sometimes you just can't win.
Seriously, if it holds temperature at idling just let her run on the really cold nights just to be safe- IMHO -
