Good luck parking at a lot of Pilot's.... LOL Hard enough at a lot of truck stops to back a 53... -
I see them around Texas quite a bit.

I use to do dedicated for Mercedes and a lot of the trailers that company used were 57 footers. Easy to pull with day cab. little tighter backing with sleeper. Alabama doesn't have really any laws against them. GA requires a permit or they will hold the trailer at a weigh station, I had to pick up a brand new one west of Atlanta more than once for no permit.

They are still used in California. 65' OA, 40' KP to RA. Cabovers only with short cabs & the correct wheelbase, deep pin settings on the trailers. They're most common hauling beverage containers, many have roller floors, though I believe Wildwood may have some 57' curtain vans.
I think they look cool. -
Not legal in a lot of States.
Texas is one of the ones that allows them.
Actually think they allow 59s also.
I remember having to unload a few when I worked at a Warehouse in Temple. -
Couple of companies used them in FL for years--mostly--mt containers--can--jugs etc--usually whse transfer kind of stuff--but most Ive seen is at H-E-B in Houston and San Antonio--they have a ton of em...........

I think California has no trailer length limit on the interstates as long as you conform to the 40' rule.

Watched one guy back one in at coca cola in San Antonio. He didn't have much fun.

59's are legal in Texas, a friend of mine just delivered one to Frito Lay for use intrastate. The Argosy cabover I drive failed in the marketplace partly because Freightliner was unable to convince the DOT that a cabover and a 57 was just as safe and more efficient than a conventional with a 53. When they couldn't get that changed Freightliner gave up on them. Except for export.
