I have a 06 volvo vnl with a d12 465hp engine and im getting a code fuel supply pressure mechanical fault on the dash looks like a gas pump with lines under it. Two weeks ago i started getting bad fuel milage and then the code popped out the trick ran like it wasnt getting any fuel, then i shot off. I checked the glass filter, it was full of diesel(had an oil and all filters changed a week prior). I had a spare one so i drained the filter replaced it with a new one and filled it back up (also added 9-1-1 to my tanks and the filter. The truck ran fine for few days the it started all over again. So i replaced all filters again at a shop and few days later same thing, i forgot to mention its winter and its cold. And this happened after working half a day after couple of loads. Looks like to me the filter gets clogged up or freezes or something, how is that possible , can anybody help.

Are you 100% sure your fuel isnt gelling?
-
Could be, like i mentioned i replaced both filters and fueled up all the way the added anti gel power service i guess its called itll run good for few days then the problemcomes back
-
Any alge in the tanks?

Are you using any coolant? You could have coolant getting into the fuel through the injector cups. That will cause the filters to plug up when cold. Volvos are known for injector cup problems.
Danisuba19 and CondoCruiser Thank this. -
I use to have a d12 06 same issue ..it may be your fuel pump its self .
Danisuba19 and smallbench Thank this. -
before my fuel pump went out, i had something else replaced, somewhere near the manual fuel pump, I can't remember what it was ..I was getting the same code ..
Danisuba19 Thanks this. -

I have exacly the same problem... I've changed my fuel filters 5times since last oil change (7000miles ego) and 3 of them was within last week... Last week my truck stops in WI (-4F) because of that... I think the fuel is gelling but I've add 4quorters of 911(red one) so it should be enough...!! My friend told me it can be a water in a fuel problem but the other guys are using a same gas station and the dont have this kind of problems...
Today it happened to me again so I decided to cancel my appts and get back to my yard... I left the truck turned on but after 6hours if turned off it self because of low fuel pressure...
I have the same problem with cooland, but I've heard it tipical for Volvo D12... I've never thought it can be interrelated with my current problems...
I also have info "Check Engine ECU at next stop" but its coming up since I've got this truck (1year) and mechanic told me its about EGRs and I dont have to be warry about this...
Any suggestions??
