Here is something I would love to see added to the units. I do mainly Heavy Haul, if y'all could add a feature where we could manually enter the route we have to follow from the states with OverSize loads. I am headed back down to Louisiana, to pick up my 3rd 22' wide load going to ND. With loads like this we are on 2 lane roads 99% of the time and the folks that handle the routing for each state are evil, an sadistic. LOL

I have tried using the city center, or muti stop modes and that is a real PITA and is not all ways the way I need to go.

I will pass along. In the meantime, put the destination in and route to it. On the map screen tap the screen. You should see a green "+". Zoom out a little and move along the route or manage the route according to your permit. Zoom in and place the "+" on the road, at the bottom you should see "add as via".

Hint. Once you get the route you wish, Main Screen/Choose Destination/Multi-Stops Trips/Current Trip folder. Click on the "Save as" on the bottom left. Name this folder.

When you are running you are using the Current Trip folder. If you turn off the TND you may loose the information. Simply go to the folder you saved the trip under. Modify/delete any Via points you have done, then press start trip.

This will now move to the Current Trip folder.

    Thanks,
    Mark

I have a 710 that has been out of warranty for quite a few months. It quit working. Actually, it worked just fine, but there was something wrong with the USB port, and it wouldn't take a charge. So, it worked until the battery ran down. I called Rand McNally to find out how much it would cost to get it repaired. They said, "Nothing." They honored the expired warranty, and emailed me a pre-paid UPS label to ship it to them. A replacement is now on its way back to me--all at no charge.

I've heard a lot of horror stories about Rand McNally, but I gotta tell ya I'll be a customer for life.

yes this is a problem with the 710 the charging port gets loose the reason we charge them at home because theres no movement I am on my third gps but fortunate for me I realized after the third one that they are JUNK and did not want to hassle with sending it back as well and I also got a runaround about it yes they are JUNK a complete waste of money

I've had my 710 for over 18 months and in that time it has only locked up on me 3 times. The charging port still works as the day I bought it at the T/A in Prescott, AR back in 2012. I haven't bothered to update the maps because the unit didn't qualify for the free lifetime maps and also because the 720 came out 2 months later.

Treat your electronics with care and they will last you a long time.
