I bought a used truck that has locking fuel caps, dealer only gave me one key and the pass side cap is locked. The key they gave me is not the key to the cap . I have only been filling the drivers side but thats getting old and boring.
Suggestions ? How can I unlock or get that cap off?
As always Thx in advance for the help.

A Locksmith can make you a key, send the bill to the dealer.

Big pair of channel locks works on some types. Had to do it on a truck I recovered for my previous employer. That was on a kw.

Before you pay a locksmith, run back to the dealer. There are not many keys for those locks. If they have the same brand on other trucks there, the keys are probably all the same. Or if you see someone at a truck stop that had the same looking caps, ask if he's try to unlock it for you.

We buy all our locking caps from Peterbilt or Kenworth dealers and they are all keyed alike. I do not specify keyed alike. They're expensive buggers, but we have so many all the same that I don't want to change brands, I like 1 key fitting all of our trucks.

Phones exsist for a reason. If you call them, they might, I dunno, pay for their oversight. If you wreck the locking cap to get it off, you'll need a new cap at least. A good dealer would likely pay for at least the new cap, if not safe removal as well.
