Thanks Pipe 40, I will use the clutch beings I am more comfortable using it. I have a lot of other things to be thinking about like keeping the truck in my lane. I do pretty good upshifting, but tend to bite some gears on the down shift. Stay safe out there.

The ride through northern California is a pretty one especially around Lake Shasta. This will be my first trip south in the truck. Have a morning delivery in Grass Valley, not sure where we will get our next load. Thanks Cabwrecker for the words of encouragement.
Shaggy Thanks this. -
It's saved me more than once from forgetting to lower my tag (drop) axels and getting a big overweight ticket.
I've also found little things like lights out and missing mudflaps especially when doing a drop and hook.
A 20 second walk around can save you from a $2000 ticket!Shaggy Thanks this. -
Flatbed makes you have common sense / Rhythm to your job. Forgetting a binder bar 50-600 miles away ( a measly $20 bar ) will teach you at the receiver to make sure have all your equipment packed up. Embarrassing to ask the receiver for a binder bar. ( guilty, never again ) That oh crap moment at a stop looking over your load and no bar to purchase and no money in the pockets. lol
I'd do flatbedding again. Except with 4 binder bars lol
Welcome to flabedding. -
Pretty quiet in there and the food isn't bad plus the place is a hoot to visit.

Here's one try to get into the habit not pulling your chains and straps off onto the ground when your unloading/loading. Put them away as your go or onto the trailer never on the ground. Think about what you need to load the load your loading and put it as close as possible to where you need it before it's your turn to load but never on the ground.
