Roehl Driver Check In Continued

It is an absolute mess here in Gary. Talking about another 10 inches potentially, then the -50 degree wind chills move in. Stay safe drivers!

 

Left Indy when it just started snowing. About 60 miles and nothing. Franklin KY now at J. 45 degrees, but dropping fast. Down to single digits by morning. 5 miles to cons.

 

Is Roehl letting Drivers idle their trucks during the deep freeze that is about to go through?

 

Do whatever you have to do to stay warm and keep the truck from freezing up. I'd be idling..

Oh so so wrong. This weekend has sucked a big one.

 

My truck has auto start, so it idles whenever it needs to.

 

Made it to the Effingham TA from Columbus. Last 100 miles at 45 , then 35 and eventually 20 mph as the road conditions dropped and wind picked up. Even at 20 mph the last 5 miles I was getting pushed sideways by the wind before it work grab a little and straighten back out. Dozens of cars and trucks jackknifed in ditches that didn't want to slow down from IN/IL border here. It got nasty real fast.

 

I will start idling tonight and I got an APU. Actually Ozark sent out a message to idle the truck. FYI Portage and Lake County in IN is going to a state of emergency at 1800 CST. All the roads will be closed until further notice.

 

50 and raining here. Temps aren't supposed to really drop until overnight. So it's not too bad right now.
