Well I need a new one. I'm running a peeked and tuned 959 Galaxy and it gets out pretty good. But I need something else, I want something that will get out over those Cobra 29s that every new CB rambo swift driver has. I've got good coax and antennas but I basically just want a new radio. I ran a Connexx 3400HP for awhile and I liked it but I think this radio does better than that one. I'm driving an 06 379EXHD so I can have just about any radio I want (not restricted to a little hole in the dash). I like something that when I talk its clear. I hate when some driver keys up and its all garbled and hard to understand I like to be heard and hear good clear conversation. So I'm open to any radio you guys can think of no real price hold back but nothing crazy...

The General Lee is a good sounding radio that swings to around 50 watts or so and has good clean loud audio. The 959 is a good certified radio that will swing to around 25-28 watts at best. Want more power? I'd go with the amplified version of the General Lee. The General HP40. It will put out over 100 watts and sound real good.
Myself, I'm sticking with my General Lee and letting it drive a small kicker for around 200-400 watts to reach out there when I feel the need. Leave it clean and let the amp provide the extra power and you will have great sound quality along with the power.

I run a Connex 4600 turbo, a Wilson 2000 antenna, and some quality coax. The 4600 has been tuned and peaked, and as long as the echo isn't turned up to much, everyone says it sounds great. My back up radio is a Cobra 29 Classic, that has had a little work done to it. Had a little box put on the back that is supposed to bump up output wattage to 125 watts. It also talks really good.

That little box being the RFX75. My 29 did real well with it. Ridgeline here will tell you it's not possible but those of us that experienced it ourselves know it's true. Tough to beat a 29 with that RFX75. Awesome setup!

Wait what there are three things wrong here. First we are assuming that they even know what a CB is. Secondly we are assuming that even if they know what one is they were taught by their mentor or trainer or what ever PC crap name they wanna call it to use a cb and lastly we are assuming that given all of that a Swift driver can afford to get a cb....

I'll second the General Lee (Connex 3300 same radio) great clean loud audio.Right now I'm running a Galaxy 44HP(same chassis as GL) I do also have a GL that I switch back and forth between.Have great results with both.Antenna is number 1 though as saying goes a $10 radio with a $100 antenna will out talk a $100 radio with a $10 antenna.

I moved up from a Cobra 29 to a Galaxy 29HD paired with a Firestik II antenna, pushes 40-45 watts. It gets out 20+ miles and I have had a lot of "loud and proud" responses to how well it sounds.

My old single 1969 final Connex CX-3300 paired with a (now no longer made - expensive if you find one) Astatic 575-M6 mic got lots of loud n proud compliments.
