I decided to drive.
US-60 is a dark, desolate road at night. And it was my first time driving in snow. I couldn't see the lines on the road at all. -
I haven't had any luck reaching my recruiter. He said everything was good and he would call me Monday (last week) and nothing. I've left messages, sent an email, tried to talk to another recruiter, but I just get sent to my recruiter's voicemail. He was really good about keeping in touch until now and I'm not sure why this is happening. There's nothing that would disqualify me that I'm aware of, but even if so I thought he would let me know. Is this normal? Is there anything I can do?

It's possible he took some time off... keep trying.

Well I am here! All checked in, my paperwork done, and ready for tomorrow's first day! I'm really excited and looking forward to a great week - despite the snow and FREEZING temps. I have a warm room, a warm coat for outside, and all is well.
-
I might swing by campus in the morning and say hello.

I chatted with a couple 'o new PSDers this morning. They were worried about snow 'n chains 'n big trucks. LOL!

Get your truck out of the shop?

n3ss,
Glad to see you were able to make it. Everybody been sick here, so you would have prob gotten it anyway.
Musicmaker60,
Good to see your finally here, too.
Time to get to it now.
Get that simulator & computer modules out of way quick, then try to get that pretrip down as best you can as soon as possible. Seems overwhelming at first, but get with someone and actually recite & do. You have to actually DO the pretrip LIVE for it to take. Trying to memorize list alone most likely won't cut it. Repitition is the key, and it will all of a sudden just click for you in couple days. You will be that much more prepared for instructor if most down before. Saw too many that figured they would just do it when w/instructor. Gonna have much else to learn while out, so why not make it easier by getting as much down now while you have the time.
When you get to pad, don't be shy. Go up and talk to whomever you might see sitting around with trucks or students. Ask your questions, tell them what you need to work on. Ask them if you can use their truck for practicing pretrips. If they are working w/student on backing, ask if you can watch & pay attention. Get in on whatever groups happen to form on backing & pretrips. Don't just hang under canopy or go back in figuring to do later. Stay out at pad and try to work as much as possible. Trust me, it will pay off later both in knowledge and folks you meet. Never know what you'll learn or whom you'll meet........
When you get to pad, you are mostly on your own at this point. Got to be proactive & working on you own initiative. Go get 'em.....
Wishing you both the best & hoping you have fun while your at it!
