400 Big Cam 3, Ive noticed for a while that my power steering reservoir level keeps climbing, the other day it started flowing oil out the reservoir lid constantly. I am assuming that there is a leaking seal between the oil pump and power steering pump and its putting oil into the steering system. My question is would the seal be on the power steering pump side? I havent had a chance to pull it apart yet because its -50 still, just want a little insight before I tear in.

It is a Spicer pump, fully rebuildable, remove it, from the engine 2,of 3/8 bolts. Take a file and mark the three segments so you can put it back the same way it was, mount it in a vise and remove the 4, of 1/2 inch bolts. pull the cap off, then the pumping spacer, keep the vanes, I use a magnet, to colect them all. Then remove the shaft if it is worn at the seal area, replase the shaft, the seal and the 2 "O" rings. Or you can get a factory rebuild for twice the price. The 1/2 inch bolts are torqued to 90 lbs the mounting bolts to 35. You need a 1.5 inch wrench usually to take off the suction line, buy a new filter in the canister, and I use 15/40 w oil.

Wow excellent information! Which seal or oring do you think would be the culperit?

The seal on the shaft, it sucks in engine oil. the "O" rings only seal the PS fluid to the outside.
