I "heard" Roehl is a good company. I explored them. I pointed out that they seem to be above par. What I said was that, along with all of Roehl's OTR training information and school finacial information, I did not find a way to access an application for a person who does not already have a CDL. I found one for in-experienced, but it is not the same. As I made the effort to check them out, I will make another effort to aplly for the school an see what they offer...but, I can not do so if I do not know where to look. Please, point out, in detail, what I failed to hear, so I may get all the information possible. It is one thing to say "check them out" it is another to tell me where and how.

Posts early on told you to call Roehl for info. Every trucking company is not always going to have every detail or info spelled out on their website.
You can't find an online Roehl job application for "no CDL", simply because you have to go thru school first (theirs or one they approve) and get your CDL first.
If you can't navigate their website enough to find their contact number, how are you going to handle every unfamiliar thing in your trucking career.
I don't want to sound demeaning, but geeze.

    Here,, from Roehl's website FAQ's:
[h=3]Q: Does Roehl offer CDL training?[/h] A: You may be able to train for your Class A License at RDTC (Roehl Driver Training Center) located in Marshfield, Wisconsin. Please call an Admissions Representative at 800-693-7016 for more details. Roehl also works with many other commercial driving schools.

Run away as fast as you can, any place cozening up to Werner is probably just as bad as Werner. The bottom 3 companies imo are Werner, Cr England, and CRST. Stay away from those and you are already ahead of the game.

What new drivers need to understand is that having a CDL is not the same as knowing how to drive a truck. When you pass the CDL test you are not driving in real world conditions. Usually you are on a safe pad with no other vehicles moving. This is not the same as trying to back across three lanes of traffic in New York City. Any company that hires new drivers is do them a favor by continuing their education. Go with a company that will expose you to as many diverse situation as possible.

My first company paid 45 cpm. That is way more then you will get. My run was KC to Houston and back. I didn't learn much but I got paid well. Looking back on it, it would have been better for me to have had to back into a wide variety of places. I learned to back while driving the caves of Kansas City for ACT.

Select your first company on the basis of who actually offers you a job. The worst of companies will have something to teach you. Learn and move forward.

I never stated that I was unable to locate a telephone number. I did, however, state that my request for information be filled by those at least trying to be constructive. So, now that you have pointed out what you seem to view as a shortcoming on another's part, I do hope it has helped fill your need to insure to yourself that you are superior, in someway...Thanks for the random kindness.

Do not feel the need to respond, because NOTHING you have to say is of any interest and in now way validates you as far as I am concerned.

To whom it may or may not concern,
I will no longer be checking this thread.
Thank you to all who did, indeed, make a positive contribution. I do appreciate it.
Life is hard enough without voluntarily subjecting one's self to the negativity of others; especially when there was no call for it.

Take care and keep it between the lines.

CargoChristi, you mentioned possibly relocating to Indianapolis? Might I suggest looking into Safe Driver's Institute of America for driving school. Good people, small class sizes, and the opportunity to get into a home daily driving job right off the bat, working for Sodrel Truck Lines (they're a postal service contractor; they own SDIA).
