Roehl Driver Check In Continued

I think FM's starting to get the picture out here. updated my eta to 0500...she came back 0900...no rush. I don't mind the roads so much..all the traffic gets me.. fast lane raiders

 

It has been a while but when I was there it was paid in 12 hour increments after 24 hours. So basically you had to sit 36 hours to get paid for 12. I think I only got it once in 12 years there. It wasn't that much pay and I just go down the road slow instead of sitting there doing nothing.

Left on schedule this morning. Had a dispatch going to KY and on the way to pick it up they cancelled it and sent me to University Park, IL.

Since I was going to University Park, I was looking forward to getting a couple of Chicago hotdogs at Max's Redhots, (across from the Pilot & next to the Petro overflow) but it was an overcrowded mess there so I just came here.

 

Southern Mn for the night ran out my hours today. Delivered in Minot ND this morning ran back to shakopee to pick my next load, now i sit out of hours till 7 am.

 

I did the same thing Monday night. It took some time to get to the 214 on 57. Knowing that it was 100% ahead and how the roads were starting to get was just a small sample of what was it was going to be like. I turned around and shutdown at the 229 and took an 8 hr break and left around 1430 and took 72 over to 55 and ran it to Memphis. While those Drivers were slugging it out on 57 I was running the speed limit for the most of the way.

 

More fun weather for this weekend! Freezing rain, snow, and sleet for the upper midwest! Gotta love it..

 

Trying to leave Gary and train blocking the road just sitting there, over half hour as of now. Big line of trucks trying to leave, now I'm late for delivery. I don't care anymore.

 

I hate that, especially if you could have stayed in the yard and waited to start your day after the train cleared, but seconds after making the turn down come the gates.
