jaso, I forgot to ask how your wife is. Didn't you say she had pneumonia?

And has anyone heard from joey or did he move on after his lease was up?

The one nice thing about TA was, they run toll roads. My company doesn't. Most of the time, it's no big deal, and they do pay me for the extra miles. Today sucked tho. 8 hrs to do 300 miles. Been nice if they had been 4 lane instead of 2.

George thinks there needs to be better training for winter driving....he said at training they never brought it up.
he put additive in the fuel, but it was only good for -10.
He also thinks his truck was not built for -25. (the heater for one)
You are so right on the learning from mistakes.:biggrin_25524:

when I had my T700 last winter the colest I was in was -16. I found my bunk heater worked best when I closed the sleeper curtains. Once I closed those my heater had no problem.

TransAm could program their trucks to idle in extream cold if they wanted to. Truck could be set to idle when temps are below 0. Werner trucks are setto idle above 75 and below 25. Any were inbetween and the truck only idles 20 mins.

At my new company they did a little training. We were told to blend the fuel if we can. 50/50 blend of #1 diesel and #2 diesel. Funny thing is that I have never seen #1 at a fuel island at a truck stop. Most major Stops blend their fuel already. And we are told to double the additive if it is going to get below -10. They are sending out messages everyday reminding drivefs to do this.
