The things to remember are, 1) You're better off with no log than a falsified log. 2) ANY crash you might be involved in is going to be at least attempted to be construed as your fault if you lack legal standing to be at the scene of the crash, at the time of the crash.
If it's that important, I'd grab a plane and work out the details about the truck with the company. -
I've never felt the need to run two logs. Granted I have rearranged my day on occasion to fit a longer that 14 hour day into the 14 hour window or driven home past my 70 but never run double books to drive 1000-1400 mile days. My body couldn't handle that.
Raiderfanatic, TheLittleGuy and allniter Thank this. -

Probably don't want to mess with California,
their fines are very high, plus it's not cool to break the law.
Your essentially working harder for less overall when you cheat logs. -
Is the risk worth the reward????

I think your wrong Emulsified CA,OR,and WA have always been connected as a former Californian and washingtonian now I live in Salem, OR just run I-5 for awhile they'll burn you for over your 11 they can see where you've been in all three states. Best thing to do is not run illegal it's not worth a few bucks.run miles not hours. You can still fudge and be legal.

The best solution is to notify your company that your codriver is gone and see if they can get someone to get in the truck with you to codrive, or to repower the load so it can move legally. If those aren't options, then your company needs to reschedule delivery. Putting you in a situation where you have to run illegally is really not a good option.
If the bottom line in this whole scenario is that you need to see your son tomorrow, then hopefully you can explain the situation to him. Being a trucker will often mean you will miss important dates with friends and family. God forbid in your efforts to drive too many hours you get yourself fatigued, have an accident, and either hurt or kill yourself or someone else's dad. -
Just remember.. your log is a federal document. ..
falsifying a log is.a.crime... -
Your son is that important that you have to figure a way to screw all of us up. Every time someone does this, it is on all of us, more evidence to put eobrs into the truck by force.
Unless he needs your bone marrow or a kidney, I would tell him I will would see him another time.
