I made it home from Alaska in one piece. I hit lots of snow on the way up and I think most plow operators must have stayed home for Christmas. I was pushing snow for hours in Northern B.C. I got a good scare between Coal River and Fireside where the local buffalo herd was camping out in the road. I have the road lit up pretty well with all the lights we have on the truck, but I still ended up in the middle of the herd by the time I got stopped. Something did not look right and I let out and started to slow down. Snow covered buffalos are harder to spot than one would think in the middle of the night in a snow storm.
I rescued a couple with two little kids on the way back. Their minivan had spun out and they went of the road and were stuck in the snow bank. The only thing I could find to hook on to was the front wheel itself. Pulled them back on the road and made their day. Further South I found a coworker that broken down just about 5 miles after cell service seized to exist. After a hundred mile round trip to pick up supplies we had the truck running again and headed South together.
Went to work this morning and worked on the truck a bit and got it serviced as well. Turned in my fix it list and hope they will fix the old girl up. I will have a couple days at home before we head South to Belize for our vacation. Not a bad start to 2014.jess-juju, Lady K, Panhandle flash and 2 others Thank this. -

That is one thing I have not really missed running North, but showers are harder to come by when running North for sure. Also the Yukon outhouses are fun to use when it is -10. I have never seen a line in front of one of them for sure and nobody is camping out in the stall either. The only positive that comes to mind is that mosquitos and black flies are not around that will violate you in the summer.jess-juju Thanks this.

We have had a busy week. Picking up in TN and heading to Laredo.

Life is tough here as well. I slept in, rode a beach cruiser into San Pedro, played in the pool and now just hanging out watching the rain.
