Ok this is the deal. They implemented this rule mainly to cover their butts in case of an accident. No one is going to chase you around and tell or turn you in for having a headset on. If there is a wreck involving a sni truck attorneys are likely going to pull phone records. If it is proven that you were on a call during the wreck this policy will absolve sni from any and all liability. Studies have shown that hands free is just as much if a distraction as texting or holding the phone. Not saying I agree or disagree but I do understand where it's coming from. Been at sni for a long time, they don't implement any policy that isn't going to affect them positively is some way. Wise business practices. There was a big ruckus when DOT made the hands free rule but people still do it, there are few (if any)phone checkpoints or Bluetooth nazis out there but heaven help you if you get involved in a lawsuit!!

I have been there over 4 years walked around all terminals with my blue tooth on, went into several maintenance shops and thru all the gates and NEVER once have I been told to remove it. Yeah they don't want you talking on your phone while driving, not really that big of a deal. Some people just can't stand being told what to do. Pull over and make a call really ain't that hard. I am sure I will get a bunch of BS reasons why a driver can't pull over. If you don't like thier rules don't work for them. Better yet buy your own truck and then you can make the rules. There are many drivers that would be willing to sit in your seat and follow rules.
