    Hello,
It seems that one of our trucks is blowing out thicker smoke than usual, causing the corner of the trailer(on the exaust side) to black out. Is this normal with the cold weather, or maybe a sign to check something out? What can cause this? Thank you for your help.

What year, model etc? More info? Any computer codes? This is simplest thing, but is it running a little choppy, slightly underpowered? May sound dumb if youve already checked but,is the sight glass over the fuel filter filled with fuel up to the top of the filter. IF SO change the fuel filter.

    Catliner Thanks this.

Any one else here remember when we would have the pumps on our 425 Kitty's turned up alittle amd every time you'll let off to shift and put your for back in you would see black smoke pouring out both stacks for a few good seconds?

On these newer engines you've probably got a clogged air cleaner.

    OLDSKOOLERnWV and 7-UP Thank this.

I remember working as a tech in my early years and a driver would bring the truck into the shop to have pump work done because his buddies truck smoked more than his. "hey mechanic, can ya make mine smoke like his?"

It sure was I still drive one of the ones I drove it's a 93 with a 15 I don't know of it ever being rebuilt but it does t burn any oil and it will run on down the road. She really is old faithful. I could leave Henderson and run up to Lake City, PA. (Up by dreary Erie) and come back on a tank of fuel (150 on each side topped off)
