do you use custom log books?

I've been using DDL for about three years and I love it. So does the DOT, since they can see everything they want to without having to decipher my handwriting. The cool thing about that is that they don't look near as hard at mine as they used to when I was handwriting them out.

 

I use an HP laser printer which sets up its own wifi network and print off of my iPhone and two different iPads. It's just a black and white printer but before this one I used an HP all in one with a cheap walmart router for a wireless network in my truck and that setup worked fine with my apple devices as well.

 

Any problems with the laser printer running off the inverter? I've heard that there could be potential problems with that setup.

 

I run a 2500 watt cobra inverter not a pure sine wave inverter. I've been running it for a little over a year with no problems at all it's even taken a couple of dives off the top shelf and still keeps on ticking.

 

Which one do you have? I have a laser printer at home and love the thing, but i's way too big for the truck, since it's a commercial LJ 4050.

 

Sounds like you guys have a better setup for printing off the ipad than I do. The one the company gave me is a complicated system and often includes restarting the ipad. Basically a little wifi setup and it also makes so I have no internet while I'm connected to that. As far as DOT liking it, I have yet to find out. Haven't had them ask to see my logs in a year. Sure as I say that it will happen tomorrow, lol.

I needed one that was less than 17 inches wide for the shaker I was driving and this one fit the bill. Now it shares a cabinet with my TV in the Pete.

 

Just get a printer with bluetooth capability....I airprint all of the time with it...no wifi needed.
