I've found that I just don't have time to give a detailed account of my day to day experiances. My trainer keeps me busy all the time and I didn't bring my laptop so typing this out on my phone would be a pita. I will say everything is going okay, I've been to the east coast almost as far south as florida, and now we're heading through wyoming to slc utah. I'm mostly enjoying the experience, miss my family a lot. So when I upgrade, I'll get to writing a good accout of what's it's been like for me. Thanks for all the positive comments.

Thanks for the information. I've read through your blog and it was a good one. I should hopefully be leaving from Merced to head down to Fontana for the training in a couple weeks. Glad I was able to get some insight on the schooling. Stay safe out there, and keep the shinny side up. Looking forward to getting over the road and onto a better career then what I have been doing.

I have a question. After I pass my skills test and my pre trip test. Do I wait on taking my written test till I get done with going over the road for 5 weeks and then I go back to the terminal to do my upgrade for solo?
-
dfaf,
I am curious as to why you took the Class C test? Was that required? If so, why?
Thanks -
I may be wrong Cali Hawk, but heard from my recruiter that we also have to take a jurisdiction test as well, and from what I understand it's part of general knowledge like a class c license. Dfaf may know more then me.

From what i was told, if you are from out of state or haven't re tested in the past 2 years, you have to take you class c test. I wouldn't stress on it, they train you on it with practice tests for 10 hours straight. Take something like 80 practice tests before you head to dmv.

Got a question. After you do your over the road training with your trainer. Once you go back to do your upgrade. What kind of tests do you have to do before you are allowed to upgrade to Solo?
-
Thanks dfaf.
Been years since I've tested, so I suppose a few rules have changed. Guess I will get a book and look things over.
A couple question for you. Once finishing school, you were able to go home for a while. How long did you get to stay home?
I've heard some companies don't have enough trainers to cover all the students needing training. What have you heard about Central?
Thanks for the info.
