Or - companies could just act with morals and decency and not spend their time trying to ruin people's careers and jobs or is that too much to ask?

Since you want to paint all companies with the same brush HOW ABOUT drivers that act like GOWNUPs do the job they are getting paid to do and not screwup everything ( accidents , drinking , drugs , careless driving , speeding , abandoning equipment ) and have a good employment record.

If prime does appeal it and it goes high enough in the court system, and they stand with the judgement against prime, and especially with the industry's trend toward lease-purchase scams, possibly a judgement against the companies engaging in blackballing drivers, it could set a precedent...maybe.

Probably had a pre existing injury and went to prime for a few months so he could claim workmens comp. Then calls a lawyer instead of prime to complain about his dac report. That lawyer who caters to truckers probably got most of that settlement.

There are good companies out there, but they are getting far and few between, especially as some get handed off to the next generation, bought out by a bigger mega-bfi company, or driven straight into the ground. Once a while, like the small company I'm returning to, it gets taken back by the original founder and he cleans house and returns it back to being the good company it was.
