You've brought some valuable discussion to the thread. I think your tune will adjust when you get down to 250. You have grown accustomed to living as a larger person. When you feel the benefits of being not huge, you will want more.
Your energy will increase. I can't imagine working 14 hours with a body suit that made me weigh, 300 pounds, that would be killer. But as you drop weight, doing those 14 hour days will get easier and you will want to introduce more activities when your not working because you will have expended a whole lot less energy lugging a 250 lb body for 14 hours vs lugging a 300 lb body.
Overweight?

I'm curious how big are your portions if this is a 3000 calorie diet?
When I use to drive expedite, I use to eat to stay awake on overnight runs. My only suggestion is if you eat while driving as a habit, eat veggies while doing so. Don't buy any cheese strings for a week so you don't grab them. Or only buy yourself one cheese string at the end of the day if possible as a treat for accomplishing your goal.
Then after a while, you can buy a package and ration them to yourself.
Teaching yourself self control will be valuable in the long run.SheepDog Thanks this. -
What protein shakes do you guys like? I use whole gains from GNC.
-
Yeah..I get my protein too.....Its called a Steak!

When I started researching Protein Powder years ago, they were all crap but, now mostly all are good, just depends on whether you like Chocolate, Vanilla or Strawberry. Do a little research and you will find good information but, GNC powders are good and, if you like the brand your using, stick with it until you find through research, something better.

Let me add my two cents after reading this thread........
Four years ago, I weighed 405 pounds and was 6 foot 1 inch tall. Today, although I'm still 6-1, I weigh 170 when wet. My weight loss was due to a pancreatic tumor that was removed (benign, thank god). I was able to move around pretty well for a 405 pound man. I used to haul farm and heavy equipment, so I was climbing up and down and all around trailers and could keep up with the best of them. I honestly could say that I could do anything a so-called "fit" person could do.
Now, with that being said, the only person I was trying to convince was myself. The difference between 405 pounds and 170 pounds is night and day. I don't know about all this BMI stuff, but take it from someone who has seen both sides of the argument- an overweight person can't function at the level of someone who is smaller. You can convince yourself, and you might be able to show someone else that you can, but in the end, the extra weight will ALWAYS be the source of he problem. -
I got to say, congrats on the weight loss friend, and thank God you the tumor was benign. Not a way anyone wants to lose weight but, hey it worked and I am sure it feels great!Jakaby Thanks this. -
Don't get me wring I like my steak too but it's not affordable or even doable to eat in every day on the truck. Usually for my cheat day I'll get a steak. I love them pittsburghed.SheepDog Thanks this.

Thank you. And yes, it feels great. I was one lucky dude. It changed what I can eat because of what my system can actually digest. I tel folks I can eat anything BUT things with processed or refined sugars, dark green vegetables, rice, noodles, anything fried, something drowning in butter, and the big one: beef or other heavy red meats that contain fat.
I can actually eat anything, but if its on the list above, it will come out out violently from one end or the other. Nothing motivates someone better than excruciating pain and having to clean up after eating the wrong foods.SheepDog Thanks this. -
I don't measure portions (obviously haha). I just scan the barcode from the package and it brings up all the info from the food then I adjust how much I ate. I have found I normally end up eating 2 servings of most things. But when your 300 lbs a single string cheese might as well be a crumb. I just have to find motivation to actually start limiting myself. I did get down to 260 but that was after my first wife left me and I went into a deep depression and only ate maybe once a day and slept maybe 2 hours a day. After I met my new current wife I ballooned up and shot back up to 300.
