Man......we need to get together and talk shop...! Most of my stuff is pre-revolution and early civil war era...got a couple of M1's , one really nice one , got it as an UN-issued weapon still in the cosmoline , then a parts gun I got at a yard sale LOL. Don't have a mauser , but have a couple Finish mosins circa 1939 I believe....But the really old stuff is what I try and chase down.

No-sir.....I don't think anything is hopeless....Our jobs as parents is to instill in our kids a respect not only for themselves , but all other people too. You have to start young though , and most important of all live YOUR life in front of them , like you expect them to live their lives...even when you're not there to lead the way. Hard to do sometimes but definately doable...my boys are both grown and gone onto their own careers..the oldest is a Dr. and the youngest a civil engineer....without the priceless help of their mother , and a huge amount of God's blessing , I don't know how they would have wound up.

Very true. I try and let most stuff go, but sometimes you just can't. When you drop the politeness to address their poor behavior - the shocked look on their face is priceless when they realize they may not be the alpha they thought they were.

We treat others as we see ourselves. Low self worth/self asteem, manhood at stake, fear of appearing weak, being bullied in grade school/high school, having a vitriolic mom, always.... lashes out at others.

Usually play ground thugs are just acting out the injustice they are receiving at home.

It is true and also funny when someone makes the big mistake of confusing kindness with weakness and as stated to see the look on their face.....

All I'm saying is that these same complaints show up week after week after week. And for the most part, you're not going to change the world.
So change what you can, change your attitude. Your outlook. Make sure you ALWAYS use your turn signals, that you ALWAYS give the guy on the side of the road some space, dim your lites, etc.

Remember the scene in Big Jake where Duke Is trying to create a distraction. He walks into the saloon and asks the bartender who was the toughest man in the bar. barkeep says, "Oh that's easy, that's Mr Sweet." Duke walks over to a guy and asks him if he's Mr Sweet. And the guy was nice and modest and mild tempered, "Yessir." And Duke punches him as hard as he can in the face.

And Mr Sweet says, "Sir, that wasn't too nice". Then he stands up. And Duke realizes that he's going to take a beating. Funny stuff.

Anyways, being polite and courteous today allows you easily stand out from the crowd. Can a driver stand out at a mega carrier? Absolutely. What difference does it make to be well-mannered in public? Waitresses will go that extra mile for you. They're so used to drivers being short with them that it will take them by surprised when a driver doesn't snap at them or describe her buttcheeks and the activities he could do with them to her. Shippers and receivers will call in and tell the company and thank them for their service.

The thing about being polite is it IS contagious. Most people don't get out of bed to be a prick, but everyone else is doing it, so why not take the path of least resistance? I'd rather go against the grain.

    The Rule of Two

One driver will stand out, two can make changes because everyone can see the teamwork and how everything just seems to fall in place. Remember, bring your A Game every time you play.

I'm on a dedicated run,so I go to the same places and same truck stops.I always have a smile on my face and a nice word to say.You would be surprised how I'm treated over other drivers. It costs me NOTHING and might help out someone if they are having a lousy day.I'm a professional so I drive and carry on as one.

Actually the negative is from members who get tired of having people who never read the forum, and just come on to rant about something that's already been posted a billion times.
