You obviously have never had the privilege of belonging to a Union by the looks of your signature line. I for one find it offensive for someone to make such a general statement as that. You don't know enough about Unions to make that statement. When you haul by the mile and load you get paid for what you do. Two years ain't squat.

Suck it up buttercup. I can tell from planinum's sig line that he's had a lot of dealings with union "workers".. but wtf does that have to do with CJ's accident?

Jade- Think of it this way. You are backing a cmv in to a hole, what right does a car have the right to cut you off while backing!!! You were set up doing your job. You did NOTHING wrong. Stick to that! Mike

It's just a good story sheesh! The reply to Chinatown doesn't help the op either.

Now CJ I would fight this if you were clear when you started the backing. Ask thermoking to pull the video for the company to prove that moron cut in behind you. The way the company sees it was you hit a parked car which you know wasn't the case here.

It will really just depend on the Amount of Damage and If the Bosses think it was really Avoidable or it could have went either way.I would not Worry about it too much because WE ALL HAVE HAD ACCIDENTS BEFORE!! Some drivers will try to spoon feed you a bunch of Bull but remember that Good truckers are made and Not Born.Im sure we have (1) million(2) million and a Few (3) million mile drivers and they have All had accidents...They just didnt get caught. It will be a Learning Expierence for you.Just move foward and try to Enjoy your Weekend as Hard as that may be.We will keep you Company

Many other posts didn't help the OP either, but the discussion is about accidents.
I offer help on PM's more often than on the open forum; that's why I daily monitor my inbox/sent message to keep space open because they constantly fill.

Don't even take this advice, the company makes a profit, the driver makes wages, why because the company is responsible for everything you do. Thats why they have insurance. Never let them charge you risk is there thing not the employees. Good Luck and god Bless Stay Safe.

I have been in a very similar situation trying to get into a Home Depot parking lot. I had my flashers on, sounded the horn before backing up to finish the turn. The car was a really small SUV that pulled in right behind me while I wasn't looking. He was completely invisible, I barely felt myself hit him. He was a complete ### about it until I asked him to sit in my truck & tell me if he could see his car. The HD forklift driver saw it & vouched for me, my boss stuck up for me & as far as I know they decided it was his fault.

One of the criteria used to determine responsibility is who had the last best chance to avoid the accident. In your case it was obviously the other party who put themselves in the position to get hit.

Well that might or might not be true weather you have an argument. Could you see the car when you backed into him or was he in your blind spot. Maybe the way you explained it to safety made it sound like it was your fault. The only time it wouldn't have been my fault is if the truck was stationary and the car rolled into it. Even then, it could still be a preventable depending on location and activity. Not really quite true so if your really not at fault then argue your case and explain why in a reasonable fashion.

If the car wasn't towed it might not qualify as a dot accident. As I understand it if neither vechicle was towed it wont be reportable. Also it seems it was on private property. I would speak respectively to the management and see what they say. I am sure they dont want the driver fired because a four wheeler (did the person work there) was stupid. Your record on paper may not look so bad if your company messes with you.. like the others said hang in there give yourself a break whatever happens if you believe in yourself and you want to drive a truck you will tell stories about this in two years and be laughing when you do.
