Several reasons to consider flatbed to vans:
1. The bottom end flatbed companies, TMC and Maverick and Prime, are better companies than the bottom end van companies like Werner and CR England.
2. No forced teams.
3. Better start pay for rookies.
4. Open trailer. If you are stupid, you cant hide it in a flatbed gig. If you are good at your job, everyone can see it.
5. You get to hang out with the Cool Kids and know what they're conversing about.

For the fact there's usually no wait, no other trucks, can vary from a warehouse to a field to construction site. Like today dropped off 40000 pounds of flat steel and got to watch them make pipe. They are usually happier to see a flat bed pull up then vans that are a dime a dozen at a warehouse.
bleee Thanks this. -
I want flatbeds for the work exercise it will give me while on the road however I didn't know I would have to load the flatbed or anything like that I cant drive a forklift or work a crane as for strapping , chaining and tarping I have no problem with that at all
-
You don't load it, you just tell them how to load it.
-
oh ok just wonder how long it is gonna take me to get used to all this stuff
-
Depends on the company and training program you go with. Most of the flatbed companies unlike van companies have very good and thorough training.

well I have applied to maverick and melton have to call them both back in a few weeks when I get close to graduating from school
