Electrical problems with Kenworth w900

If your switch is a factory fog light switch then it works off the grd. not power.Check your fuse & relay in your fuse box to make sure they are good.

 

Most kw`s are grounded at the switch. start with fuses and relays.

 

I have a 2007 w900 all my gauges with the exception of tach and speedometer keep loosing power even the back lighting turns off. if I turn off the ignition and turn it back on they all reset like normal stay on for a short period of time and then shut down
can anyone help me out with this????

 

Hello add me to this problem,, Similar to others, I have NO gauges/ backlights except the backlighting of the spedo/ tach. ( 07 W900 Dump) sometimes they will function untill I shut'er down for awhile (not fuse)

Those newer trucks have a body control module in them the same as a car. That’s why wiring anything into them like accessory lights or added switches is a headache. They didn’t do anyone any favours when they went all NASA with the electrical systems. I had an ‘07 W900L for a while and got rid of it for that very reason. No end of lighting and switch function problems.

 

I changed the module in the dash because the lights weren’t working properly and that fixed that problem. Are you talking about the module that is located behind the cup holders?

 

There’s one there behind the console, and another one was down on the frame behind the battery box. The one in the console is for instrumentation function and some of the interior lighting. The rest of the lighting and a bunch of other stuff is the one on the frame.
