Recently put in applications to both these places here in upstate NY. I guess after the holidays things may have slowed down so I dunno if I'll even get called back. But was wondering if anyone had any more information on these employers. Rate of pay, working hours, upper management, the like. I'd be willing to do either p&d or linehaul. Any info would be appreciated. :biggrin_25519:

Not sure about Landair Express but i know nemf you start with 18$ per hour and you get overtime after 8 hours, management is not bad and they won't bother you as long as you doing your job, good insurance and everything i don't work for them but my friend does, if you want to you can trying rl carriers, a dui pyle, estes truck lines these are not bad either.

Would you say as a union company they're a bit tougher to get hired on with? As in with your work history, experience and all that.

Not really if the company wants you they will take you. But during your probation they will try to get rid of you before you make the union list. Just do what they tell you and stay out of trouble and then you'll be fine

    sleep7 Thanks this.

Nemf is union but they are not teamster, I believe it is a machinest union of some sort, land air in Springfield ma started me at $18 an hr, you get a $0.25 raise every 6 months and $20 a night for doubles. there is no OT in the winter, you will get 34-38 hours a week, summer time you might get 45, maybe, health insurance is Cigna and hopefully you don't need it because it is useless, also, make sure you do a very thorough pre trip, but other then the line haul trucks most of the city ones they don't fix. There are deffinately worse places to be then LAX, but there still not a first choice. I ran line haul for a year out of springfield

just noticed your in Albany, they have all new trucks there so the equipment
