Fargo weather report shows single digits at night. So I am just wondering how you start in the morning or you just wait till noon till the truck thaws out?

Well I made some calls to fellow drivers today and found out the company has them set to temp. Some are set at 20 and others are set to zero. Mine must be one of the lower set trucks. Even tried rigging the throttle and only setting the trailer brake. That bought me about 30 mins idle time until it shut off. Guess I'll just make due for now.

Depends on the truck, most of my problems come from fuel filter or lines, I have an APU and add additives, that thing can gel at 20 if the wind is bad or maybe it has something to do with biodiesel fuel

Then it works lean for like 20 min with 911, which is not the best thing to do to the engine before gaining power.

Ever had a service truck come out and JumpStart you? The feel when they hit that starter with 16-18 volts, like its gonna rip right out of the tranny?

Get ya a Maxwell Start Module and she'll crank like that at less than -20 degrees!

The Swift driver needs to get his batts individually load tested!

If you add additives PRIOR to fuel and make sure they mix well, you wont have filter gelling. Make sure you run a good hour after filling to make sure the fuel with additive maked it to filter.

    TheLittleGuy Thanks this.

Agreed. But you don't need a lot of juice to power the ecm on cold starts. And the Maxwell does all of the heavy lifting.
