I usually try and post positive things on here, but i feel i need to post this.
i Have 11yrs driving experience, no tickets or violations ever, i just spent the last 2 days in orientation with CF in Groveland Florida, although i only live 110 miles from there i incurred, Hotel, fuel and toll expenses totaling around $200 to attend orientation, i could have stayed at their facility for free if i was prepared to share a room with upto 4 other people, i chose not to. before going to orientation, i was told this, we would all be started at 32cpm which after 3 months could rise after they verified work history, the truth is they only go back 3yrs and to get the max cpm you have to have 36 months in the last 3 years verifiable otr, even though you may well have 10yrs previous experience, so max cpm is 35cpm after 90 days, orientation is 4 days from 07.30 - 16.30, i was told we get paid for orientation, the pay is 2 $25 grocery cards, so $50 for orientation, pay rises are half a cent after 6 months if you drive at least 10,000 miles a month for that period with no violations, bonuses are also dependent on a min of 10.000 miles a month with no violations, they take $25 a week from your wages until a total of $750 has been paid to cover any damages to their equipment, any damage to the truck or trailer is on you the driver, time in orientation is also spent on trying to get you to open a bank account with PNC bank. There is no sign on bonus and no guarantee of miles.
While some of this may be similar to other companies, i feel a truck driver with a good record and good experience should be treated and paid better than this, $50 for about 36 hours orientation is a joke, i decided to not complete orientation and come home, i am worth more than they are offering and i feel their whole pay deal is an insult to truck drivers, my CDL expires in May of this year, i will not be renewing it, we as responsible, safe truck drivers deserve more than this, we all know the dangers and sacrifice of family time we give up to do our job, to me it is disgusting the way we are treated, i know there are some good companies out there and living in Florida is a disadvantage if you want to be in the trucking industry, but for me im done, seen most of this great country, worked hard, but enough is enough, good luck to you all, not much more i can say........................

You have to "prove" yourself at any company...10+ years doesnt mean jack to a new company if they don't trust you..
And as for the $750 account for damage to the equipment, I can see why that is done. Some people just don't care, And will destroy the inside of brand new trucks and what not..
Caroll Fulmer has a terminal In Wisconsin about 5 min from my house, And i keep my rig there. I don't drive for them, But my father in law does... He doesn't have anything bad to say, and he's owner op and has his own authority
I talk to the dispatchers often and they are all nice hard working people that try there best to keep people moving.Vito and Florida Girl Thank this. -
