I am so sick of this truck. Been to 3 different KW dealers over the last 18 months. Engine de-rates and they replace VVA's and wiring harnesses all the time. Where can I find someone that knows these engines? I am based 3 hrs east of Toronto, ON but I run I-81 from Watertown, NY to Harrisburg, PA quite a bit.

That was the norm for mine. Ran great. then start throwing code s in the 90s. VVA stuff. Our mechanic could change them in couple of hours. But still amazed me that they could go bad in just a few months. Might get with Mr Haney on here. He could steer you in better direction.
Cetane+ Thanks this. -
Yeah hopefully he will reply. Thanks

You might try Cleveland Bros. just north of Harrisburg PA. Their shop in Turbotville Pa on Hwy 180 is second to none. I don't know about the shop at Harrisburg but it might be worth a try. I just know that you can't go wrong in Turbotville.

You've been to Toromont in Concord ?
-
No I thought because they were Toromont they would be mostly off road construction stuff. Are they any good in there?
-
We do get to Turbotville. Thanks.

They have a truck specific facility and they are excellent. I'm in Kingston and I'll do whatever I can to be sure they're the only ones that touch my MSX.
They aren't what you would call cheap at $125 / hr but these guys know their stuff. -
Yes any cat dealer with a yard full of yellow iron usually has a truck engine shop. I'd visit the one closest to you and ask some questions. And as others have said their not cheap.
Sorry I didn't answer your question in the other thread

I am NOT looking to start an argument. Most CAT shops are good but there are others that stand out as being really great. Turbotville in the late 90s and early 2000s was just one such place. For myself Turbotville and one independent shop in NC are the only two shops that I have total faith in.
