Trucking Jobs in 30 seconds
Every month 400 people find a job with the help of TruckersReport.

Did they say what was wrong with it?
-
Nope. Got a feeling it's gonna be awhile.

Oh the joys of head to the meat patch, they need the trailer (NOT) we will get you a load... And in January, Feb and March, I never headed for the meat patch without at least a preplan. Then you will be forgotten about, and others will be assigned loads, while you set in purgatory. Get after the meat planners, phone voice mail, your DM and QC messages starting at 7am... And don't stop...
And meat shipments during the first 3 months of the year are down 30%.Rattlebunny Thanks this. -
That was a point of my frustration... I was calling, leaving messages, and sending QC messages etc.
They finally got back to me and I now have a load assignment. Dld Friday at 0136. When were they planning on sending that?
Plan your trip, work your plan... its #### hard to plan if you have no idea what to plan. That dld means I am probably running tomorrow night and/or early Friday morning. Now I can plan on being awake overnight, without knowing who knows if I can make the delivery on time if I can't run it when it is ready because In have been up all day.
This shouldn't be such a foreign concept.Last edited: Jan 15, 2014

Kmac, being january, I will bet holcomb has that load done early, unless it is a multi-stop pushing the weight limit.
-
Well my dumber is about to jump ship. Looks like I'm starting over. Yay.
-
TLea... it was done early, 24 hrs early to be exact which again begs the question why are they waiting to assign the loads, unless of course, and I hope this is not what happened, that this load was already assigned and taken off another driver and given to me.
I just do not think k it should be such a hassle to get a load assigned so I can start planning. I understand if there are no oads, but if there are no loads, why did they need the trailer there?
I really have had an overly positive experience here at Stevens but from time to time there are frustrations.
In my mind anyway, waiting on a load is far different than waiting for a load. -
KMac, this time of year meat loads are down 15-20%. Just nature of the beast. People are eating less meat. Trying to live up to those new year resolutions.
So everyone is ready to ship, anxious to get the product out, but the last event in the chain of events is the final order from the buyer.
So hurry up and get there and wait for the order to be finalized, but since orders are down, when they do get it, it doesn't take long to fill it. Hence being ready before the DLD.
January is the month of low freight and weird shipments. -
Dang Curb.....I hope they can work something out.
