Hey if there is anyone who can answer a few questions that would be great. I'm getting ready to take out a loan to attend Sage, I want to get hired on with Schneider after completing the 6 week course and plan on obtaining all of my endorsements. They say they will reimburse up to 6000 in school cost. Does anyone drive for them if so how hard is to get hired on. I have a few driving on suspended tickets but they are all 3 years or older, also I had a reckless driving ticket and a driving with a blood alcohol content of .02 under the age of 21 which isn't a dui or a dwi, those I got 8 years ago. Other than that my record is good, no felonies and I have a high school equivalency. Would they be willing to give me a shot in your opinion. I am motivated and serious about this career and wont stop until I'm in one way or another but this is my first choice.

I'm afraid the driving while suspended repeatedly and wreck less driving is gonna be a major show stopper. Before you take out any money I would talk to them. Or anyone whom you may think you want to go with. Best of luck.

Read the above post! Yes, call before you take any money out for schooling, but no one can tell you for sure. It would be in your best bet to call them. Chinatown may chime in here and give you solid advice on companies that may hire you. I, too, am getting ready to take a loan out with SAGE in NY, for schooling.

By the way, there are many more companies out there that will hire you out of school, and offer the same package (if not better) than Schneider. Nothing against Schneider, just being realistic. Do your homework. It takes time to switch careers, or jump into one. Put the brakes on, and do your homework.

    Best of luck to you.

Check with Dieselfuelonly he started a thread about his adventures with Schneider from day one and now he has a thread called the adventure continues. He drove for them as a company driver and then transferred into the Schneider IC division. He should be able to answer your questions.

The big question I have is what was your license suspended for and how many times were you cited for driving on a suspended license? This may be a deal breaker, especially when added to the reckless driving citation. If your license was suspended for non payment, SNI will probably work with you. Suspended for excessive points/citations/gross stupidity behind the wheel it's going to be a problem.

I'm not saying it's a no go, but you need to talk to Recruiting. They are the only one's who will be able to give you a complete answer.

You're going to answer a lot of questions to whoever you apply to. And Schneider sucks anyway. They will want to know why you were driving after being ordered by judge not to. Think they are going to want you using your judgement while driving their although cheap but still expensive truck and freight??
I would talk to some companies 1st. Preferably local or office where you can sit across table from someone. Not a phone recruiter. They will tell you anything to get you there and send you home just as quickly. Be honest. It's evident you're not a good criminal as you were caught a lot. If you are sincere someone may give you a chance. BS them and most will smell it and tell you to hit the bricks.
You need to grow up. Driving a truck isn't romantic after the 1st couple of days. Just a job that mainly requires you to follow rules and make wise use of your time. Any fool can learn to steer and shift. Takes a grown up to make money for them and especially for you without getting killed or killing someone else. Good luck.

Really big ducker not a good criminal lol, need to grow up. Man I have rough necked in the worst weather in ND so piss off boy. I'm a grown ### man. Like I said I have no felonies and no criminal history clean as a whistle buddy. My license was suspended for not paying the 150 dollar fine I received from the initial charge, so read before you write. Thanks popcorn169 and gentleroger for the feedback, I talked to a recruiter from CR England and they said they would have to check further into and are calling me back tomorrow. My license was just suspended for not paying fines on time. It was never revoked or taken away. In Montana and some other states they have a zero tolerance for underage driver with alcohol in there blood, I could have just used some Listerine and got the ticket but it is what it is and I'm doing my research before making any dicisions hints me asking about it on this forum. Thanks to the guys with the helpful advice I appreciate it.

I just got out of school with my Class A myself, we had a LOT of recruiters come and talk to us and a few in my class had old felonies, one had an old DUI, even with me, I lost my lic 8 times since I had it (non moving violations, mainly owing taxes or not paying a ticket so I couldn't renew until I paid up) But that stuff was from the teenage and low 20's (im 33 now). Most of the OTR companies said they look into the circumstances behind things now and don't just ban people as much as they used to, mainly do to driver shortages. I wouldn't worry about it.

This is still considered a DWI in the eyes of most mega carriers. Being that it was 8 years ago may improve the way they look at it.

suspended is the same thing as being revoked.
