Chicken lights?

Is worrying about taking out a bumper and/or fender a bad thing?

Never heard of them called "chicken sticks".
Rookie Rods is what I've heard.

If you have to put a set of chicken sticks because you're worried about taking out a fender or a bumper don't buy a long hood.

Rookie rods, yep I've heard them called that as well. I personally don't like the #### things and I hate seeing them on trucks. I won't even park next to people that have them because I'm worried they're going to take something out on my truck

That's just me though opinions like a butt hole everybody's got one haha.

 

I think some folks install rookie rods/chicken sticks just for the
additional two amber lights on top 'cause there's no more room
for any chicken lights on the tractor. :smt108

Yes that is true and if they do there's something wrong. I'll take driving a hood over an aero any day of the week I can judge in my hood I can't in an aero idk y probably just what I'm used too. Course I like to look between the steering wheel and the dash too lol

I do believe you're the same aftershock that wrote chicken haulin 101. That was pretty good partner!!!! Laughed for hours reading that.

 

Lookin' betwixt the steering wheel and dash provides a feelin' of bein' one with the Big truck, ..... for me.
A huge difference from when I first started drivin' Big trucks, --- in an International cab-over.
Back then I pumped the air-ride seat up to a high altitude, as I've noticed many rookies do. As I became more comfortable, the seat height came down closer to Earth. When I changed Big truck truckin' companies, and graduated to a long nose (W-900) everything changed. I felt more at home in a conventional. My seat height became comfortably lower and my shifting improved a whole bunch almost over night. Backin' up took a little practice, but backin' became second nature, --- to the point that I enjoyed challenging situations, --- somethin' I thought I'd never get the hang of.
But the best part of drivin' a nose was bein' able to stand up in the sleeper to pull my pants on.
Try doin' that in an International 9700 cab-over.

Best way for four wheeler to 'thank' a trucker just use four way flasher's,but if you insist on lights going off it is a circuit interrupter.Not that difficult to hook up!
