people really have nerve pounding on a truck when they know dang well the people are trying to sleep, thats a good reason for me to roll down the window and pepper spray the idiot. I am a very grumpy person when woken up especially by someone I dont even know.

Not to mention that they are begging money from a .... trucker!!???? :D :D :D :D

Last one that pounded us awake, before he could even get a word out, I said, "Hey buddy, can I borrow $5 bucks to get something to eat?".... he just walked away.

So what is this 'alcohol swab' of which you speak?

I had the pee tests and breathalyzer test, but I've never heard of a swab.

I'm headed to a Petsmart DC in Hagerstown, MD for an early live unload Saturday morning.
Not my favorite place to be, especially if I need to be in a truck stop.

Finally got my truck out of KW. EGR issues, and even Cummins was involved. Now IEL is working on me getting out of this truck and get me into my new T-680, hopefully in about 1 week. Get a pplan, says pu this morning at 1000 then get to the truck and another msg says pu at 1930 and I was thinking today so I stayed with it. Looked at it again and I got the date wrong, pu tomorrow night at 1930. Oh well, with this flu again, I still decided to stay with it. Get a lot more rest.

Best thing to shake it is sleep.
I seldom stay sick more than a couple days if I get enough sleep.

I have not had to take any alcohol or drug test since being hired, I guess they just randomly do it when you go into certain terminals at certain times?

It's 'random', and I haven't had one for about a year.

But, I crunched a fender 2 weeks into solo in a backing accident against a pole. For the next 18 months or so I got a 'random' test every 2-8 weeks.
