I've got an N-14 that locked up on me (CPL 2025) in a '98 Shaker. I replaced it with one from a '97 Shaker (CPL 2027) while I rebuild my other.
I'm having a few problems:
1. My tach wouldn't work with the ecm from the '97. Swapped them out and now it works. Strange?
2. Cruise and Jakes now don't work. Already tried new brake/clutch switch and pressure switch. Still says switches are pressed though.
3. While in Insite I can't clear the chkeng light
4. Are all blocks essentially the same for Celect Plus? Meaning tags say 470 and 410, but can it still be upped to 500?
I ask the last question because I had a 470 with3.58s and the replacement was a 410 with 2.85s. Obviously big difference and now with the smaller hp I'm lugging up top
TIA
Any Cummins pros inhouse? Need help

Did you switch from a celect plus to celect ECM? Most of the problems you list are fixable by adjusting the parameters in the ECM. I recommend putting the ECM that came with the motor back on and head over to your local Cummins dealer, they can plug into it and adjust the settings. The CPL number will tell what the motor can be turned up to. Switching ECM's with different CPL's will cause your motor to run poorly.

No both are Celect Plus ECM...I'm going to another Cummins today to try to get some incal cds because everyone I call keeps saying they are backed up for at least a week in the Chicago area!

use Engine Image files to transfer parameters w/o mistakes....
