Hi there, trucking student! I recently graduated from SAGE truck driving school, and have locked in with my new employer. During the process of vetting companies, I found none that issued what you call a pre-hire letter. What I did fine--every time--was an email from the recruiter I was working with, that stated I am qualified to joing their team...or stated I did not meet their initial qualifications (needed at least 6 months of driving experience, for example). I don't know of any company that still utilizes paper applications; every last company I applied to, required an on-line application. And please: be certain that the oil fields are where you want to spend your education. Most often, working on these sites does not count toward OTR experience, so after even as little as six months of oil field driving, you could be out of a job should you want to go OTR. Also, please understand that those rigs are not kept up to safety requirements. Just thoughts...
What companies have ONLINE applications for pre-hire letters?

Thanks for the info, and that is genuinely interesting. No one had mentioned to me that pre-hire "letters" might be emails rather than paper letters.
I'll talk to the recruiters about it. Again, thanks.

I wouldn't recommend wasting recruiters time to get you letters when your not serious.

Getting 2 pre-hire letters is a prerequisite to get $3,500 of my tuition for CDL-A school paid for so that I can start working and paying for my mother's medical bills and my sister's tuition, and if that means taking 5 minutes of a recruiter's time for a phone interview where they basically just double-check the application I sent in, well... it's not ideal, but I can easily live with it, especially considering the thousands of threads on this very site ROASTING these companies for treating new drivers so horribly with lies, under-payment, false knocks on their records, etc., etc, etc
You're of course welcome to your opinion; I just don't share it.

Not sure what your attitude is all about, but for that I can't/won't offer advice. Have a nice day.
HauntedSchizo19 Thanks this. -
Not sure what your attitude is all about, especially when you can't/won't offer advice and are clearly posting just to be negative. However, a quick look through your post history reveals that you enjoy being rude.Have a nice day.

i cant imagine why know body is responding to his outstanding professional patient attitude. Don't bother with school you will not make it in this industry, you do not have nearly thick enough skin, and your mouth is way to big for your experience level. save your time and money. You know the first year your going to starve anyway, It's the industries way to weed out the light weights.
Good Luck, God Bless youre going to need all the help you can get.GasHauler Thanks this. -
Wow. You just got incredibly emotional and upset over a stranger on the internet pointing out that he'd already explained something 3 times, and not in a rude way either. Notice I didn't name call or insult anyone, unlike yourself.
Talk about thin skin and a big mouth. You should sort those rage issues out bud, someone who is so easily angered shouldn't be on the road. -
PS-Thank you to those of you who have PM'd me, I greatly appreciate the leads and will definitely contact them and let you know how it goes.
I think this thread has just about run it's course.
