I really don't understand how the bus took so little and the truck so much damage. Hand of God!?

Because the school buses are still made out of heavy gauge steel........Everything!

Tractors are plastic,Resin garbage of today......

Drivers...Please be aware that school buses make stops and quick stops too.......

This is 1 thing that just drives me crazy and is UNACCEPTABLE.......... As a professional Driver You dont rear-end a schoolbus with children on board.

In the comments on that page you have someone that says he was going to fast for conditions. But in the video it says the driver of the truck was making a left turn.
I don't see that much damage for a turn at a couple mph. But maybe he was speeding up after his turn? Idk

I can tell you in fact the truck driver wasn't even making a left turn. It was very foggy that morning and the real problem is that the speed limit is 55MPH, but everyone goes about 70MPH and even faster. What made it worse is that NC buses drive slow due to laws here. They go about 35 - 45 MPH on a 55MPH zone, but everyone else goes 70+.

    Speed is a factor.
Fog is also the cause because they couldn't see the lights on the bus.

"Investigators acknowledged that the fog was a contributing factor in the crash."

Unfortunately, "investigators" have absolutely no method of determining that. Fog has no method of singling-out motorists to contribute to their crash. A school bus has larger tail lights than any other vehicle on the road, and they're mounted higher. For some odd reason nearby 4-wheelers were not crashing into one another despite the lesser visibility of the lights of their vehicles, and apparently none rear-ended the truck after it crashed.

This report, unnecessarily, punctuates the nearly universal effect of motor vehicles rendering even the most intelligent among us 2 sacks o' hammers stupid.

I think we can reasonably expand that to include not rear-ending anyone.
