Ok let's make this alittle more simple .....no this is not a bad dream ....fact is prime needs drivers in order to stay in the trucking industry right? .....well they wont have anyone to move frgt if no one wants to drive for them right?...hows that ?now do ya get it? :biggrin_2553: Try grasping the FACT that that statement stands TRUE for EVERY TRUCKING COMPANY in operartion around the WORLD not just PRIME .

My biggest turn-off to Prime was from first-hand experience. There was a place we delivered to occasionally near Scranton, grocery warehouse, think it was called Northstar? Really tight place since they had railroad tracks in front of the docks. Like 90 feet in front. Like, you HAD to go in to the doors in the proper order or those to your right would never be able to get in their spots unless they had pup trailers and day-cabs. So the basic idea was everyone had like 0500 appointments. Someone would come out and get load info from everyone, then he would assign door numbers and tell you what truck you would follow in. This way everyone would be able to get into their doors since the far left door would be first in, 2nd left door would be next, etc. etc. Well it would NEVER fail, every time I delivered there, one or two Prime trucks would jump the line. Now, true, occasionally trucks from other companies would too. But Prime drivers were pretty consistent in doing this.

"But that wasn't the company's fault, it was the drivers!" Ya, but the company hired those drivers. Trained some of them. It's kind of like computers. Garbage in, garbage out.

That place... yep, very tight. I suppose those guys were just eager to get it done, and probably didn't understand the problem of getting into the docks beyond them. You could have said something ya know... I'll bet they probably would have understood the problem immediately.

With as many drivers as Prime has, we don't get to some places very often... it was most likely the first time each of those guys had been there. The load I'm on now... the last time I picked up at that shipper was 3-1/2 years ago.

Well, the guy who order how the trucks go in is very clear. Every time I was there he went through the same spiel about how you MUST follow the order he gives you to go in. I have to say, it was fun to watch him get bent out of shape at the drivers who would skip, but I felt bad for him having to deal with that EVERY morning. Heh. I could understand making the mistake if the guy simply came out and said, "Ok, you're on door 3, and you're on door 5, ok everyone GO." and left it at that. And ya, everyone is eager to get on a door and get unloaded. But c'mon, we've all been to new places and had to ask where to go, what to do, and got in and out with no problems before. Just don't understand why it was so hard for these guys all the time. :p Not that they are the only company I see doing stuff like this, just that this IS a Prime thread. I'll go to some of the USA, Covenant, Heartland, etc. threads to tell those stories. :)

You all were told to be civil. You couldn't do it, so I'm closing this. Now to go through and clean up the mess.
