Pecos, TX. You would think that it would be easy to find a parking space here on Saturday night. Well, not so. I forgot about all of the tankers, and this lot is mostly full of just them. I must say, I so enjoy being back down South. Get to stop at some of my favorite places for authentic Mexican food, and did just that today. Some real pecadilla and steak fajitas. Sooooo good.

So if freight is SO slow this time of year, why is it still so hard to find parking after dusk?
And why are there still so many trucks passing me?
And why do I not sit more than a few hours before getting another load?

Around here is all of the oil fields, and most of the tankers are either sand or water. Come morning most will be cleared out

I can always find something that I want to buy, that is why I always walk in without my wallet. By the time that I might find something and walk back to the truck, I might just talk my self out of it. Been thinking about a new T.V for some time with all of the points that I have, and still, no go. Maybe when I get the new truck.

im the same, I have talked myself out of things several times and sometimes its the same dang thing I want to buy over and over until I finally just do it.

As for the tv its so much cheaper just to go buy a nice one at Walmart and use an inverter. You can get a 19inch for only $100 now, there is a nice 24 inch led ultra slim I want which I think is $149, but then again I have a little tv in the truck right now and I have turned it on maybe 2 times in the last 2 months. I normally just watch movies on my laptop since it has a better display and my laptop is 17.4".

As for parking I was going to mention the opposite tonight, when driving back from Merced I past 2 rest areas with only a couple trucks and passed a couple truck stops that are normally packed and they were completely empty and this was at 22:00 time frame, even the flying j near bakersfield looked a bit bare compared to normal.

oh and the portable oven I had was a schumacher, I now have the road pro which seems to run cooler at the plug and hotter in the box, I used it 3 times since last night so far. The other oven has a life time warranty but I dont know where I stuck the receipt and most likely I would be spending for shipping and handling to even get it fixed. I thought about taking it apart and seeing if it could be a loose wire or something simple.
