MSF - modular switch panel, looks like a panel with hazard button.
It is connected with switches by ISO9141 and MSF communicate with other modules by J1939 CAN (Engine VCI, SAM modules, Dashboard). When battery is low ore weak some modules may off when starter motor cranks engine and MSF stores J1939 fault code (SID 254)
MSF is thing from Mercedes Actros MPII built after 2002. Now daimler uses it on MB, Freigtlines, some Sterling and WS trucksCascadia Thanks this. -
Hey thanks Pablo.
Yup, it could be that, batt low voltage, no wonder I get that other message while cranking, will check batteries later.
Thanks -
I work on Actros MP=II from 2005 and many people were confused with its multyplexing system. More complicated than Volvo, but more flexible. I sugest all Daimler trucks will get with system soon

I've been reading a lot of complaints with this new "multyplexing", quite a few threads about how bad it is, but ohh well, I guess is just like beauty is in the eye of the beholder.
