True the nature of the accidents are not known so who knows.. thats why I did not comment on that.. more concerned she is comfortable with her contact with the company (dispatcher)

Well let us know if she has a new dispatcher or not.. I am interested and would like a follow up..

    Capnhector,
Tell your friend to take a deep breath before she does something bad. Schneider National is not as bad as she might say. She just needs to request a new Driver Manager. I had a DM I didn't get along with and subsequently quit myself. In retrospect I should have stayed and tried to either mend fences with him or request a new DM. Schneider has plenty of freight, lots of miles, great equipment and some really nice people to work with. I know there are plenty of idiots out there and Schneider has their share of them. There are many companies worse than Schneider. I'm certain you have heard all the negative stories about Swift, Werner, JB Hunt, CR England, Covenant, US Express and Prime. Don't make a huge mistake and walk away from a good company because of a rough section of road. From personal experience you need to heed my warning, the grass really isn't greener on the other side of the fence. You have to start at the bottom of the list again, the trucks may not be as good as the one you already have, your miles may not be all they promised, they may not be able to get you home when you want, you may not get to run in the area you wanted. Tell your friend to get a new DM and stick it out, she has her foot in the door, it only gets harder to find a new company willing to take her with 2 preventable accidents and only 3 months experience. Ride out the storm, it will get better soon.

Yea I'd say that is preventable, you wouldn't want to know the cost of a heavy wrecker (or two) these days. If I was an employer I'd be mad too, because a simple extraction from mud can cost over $1,000.

So if I pull into a shippers mud filled yard to get my flat bed loaded and I get stuck because of inadequite tires that is considered a preventable:biggrin_25521:

Hopefully if you are flatbedding something they will have a large piece of equipment to get you out....:biggrin_25519:

I would probably contact my dispatcher and tell them the situation though, so if they tell me to proceed, I would say "told ya I would get stuck".....they probably wounldnt care but at least hopefully they wouldn't write me for it, so when safety reviewed it......everything went through dispatcher / dm

Another option to consider outside of switching dispatchers is to switch OCs or boards. Im not really sure how the boards work or whatever, but the guy I trained with didn't get along with the board or whatever in one of the OC's in CA, so they switched him to the fontana one. He was still able to work out of the other yard, he was just on a different board.

I started my driving career with Schneider in 1994,back then you were not required to sign a contract,I was with them for almost a year. I guess when you are new driver you get overwhelmed, they don't prepare you for all the political b.s. that goes on over there, thought about going back a couple times for the pay and benefits, but couldn't bring myself to sign on the dotted line. She should stick it out for a while because no one will touch her with 2 accidents in thar short amount of time. She is an insurance risk, follow the proper channels and you will be fine.STL's treat you like trash and they are impersonal, give it right back to them:biggrin_25522:

With 2 preventable in 3 months, choices will be very limited, if any. She should stay at sni to satisfy the terms of her training contract, and try to put the preventabiles behind her. As far as dispatchers go, get with the dispatchers boss and get another dispatcher. I have had several over the years and only one or two were worth a darn.
