I put 463hp to the ground, on a 515 Ron. So something is wrong for sure mate. I dont really know anything about the DD motors, so can offer no help from experience, sorry. If they dont figure it out though (it sounds like they are trying their best), call the guys at Interstate in Altoona,Ia. The afternoon shift comes in at 4pm, and are the bee's knee's in my opinion.
On a side note, anyone ran Az87 from Winslow down to Scottsdale? I have plenty of time, have a 53' 3 axle, and grossing about 70k lbs. Figured I'd save the 50 miles if it isn't too bad. Weather is sunny out here, so no concerns there. I am thinking I ran it before, with ag equipment, but for the life of me cant remember the details. Old age is starting to suck!

Martin,
There are plenty of hills on that route, I avoid it if I can as there is no time saving for me. Otherwise it is not terrible road.
On mine, I am just getting tired of fighting the battle.
I am seeing reasonable rates, when I am running but do not want to have issues with the warranty by not addressing the problem.
Glad to see you back on here, hope we cross paths again I'm the near future. -
I took a few days off here Ron, after some BS. I leanrt to just ignore the crap now, and walk away for a few days to let the hot heads settle down.
I certainly do hope we cross paths again mate!
I know what you mean by warranty stuff, I was chasing my tail for a while myself. I ended up dropping the truck off in Iowa over Xmas, and just left it there! Seems like they got it figured out now though, so now just to finish breaking it in and seeing if it will give anymore. I think these emission motors are just a different beast than the old ones myself. I notice in Western NM and Northern Az, I lose boost. Not a lot, but some. Done it the past two times out here so I am guessing its elevation related.
Sounds like the shop you are dealing with (Detroit shop I am guessing?) have their ducks in a row and are being thorough.
I may just run down 87 and take my time tomorrow. Either I will try to park at the Loves in Chandler, or hopefully park on site tomorrow in Scottsdale. Will call the idiots tomorrow and see. Been here since yesterday lunchtime, but they cant get a crane until Wednesday 8am! A good customer of ours, and I loaded early, so nothing to do but smile....

On the other side of the hwy from the Love's is the Wild Horse Pass casino and it has about 30 parking spots. They have several restaurants that are all better than eating at the Love's and you don't have gamble if it's not your thing. I killed about 5 days there in Dec.
There is a 13 wide dump body up in WY I would haul down there if I could pin down a day when the truck will be out of the shop. The dealer is re-painting both fuel tanks today and re-hanging the passenger door to stop an audible hum I get in a cross wind.
Having said all that, I still am getting very fond of my new truck. -
Hey Ron...what clutch are you running? With 560 hp, you may need to jump from an 1850 clutch to a 2450... But if the clutch was slipping, you would be able to see it on the dyno graph.
Just troubleshooting. Fuel pressure, fuel filter, air filter, boost leak will hurt you bad (I cracked my inter cooler...still drove, just power was noticeably down)....
I don't know anything about the DPF filters except the do make it more difficult for the engine to breathe, obviously. -
Cheers Ron. I may go down there tomorrow after lunchtime then mate. Maybe 4hrs from here at the most? 167 miles to delivery in Scottsdale. Hoping I can park there though, as it would save fighting traffic in the morning...
I think WS are on their game as far as customer service goes, certainly more than the KW and FL dealers on the road that I have dealt with.

They looked at the fuel pressure and it was right on factory spec according to the shop manager and confirmed from the earlier dyno's at the dealer (been in the dyno now I'm 2 shops about 6 or 7 separate times.
Not sure the cutch is an issue as they just turned up the truck and nothing has really changed since they fixed the last of the fuel leaks. I do know if I have even the smallest air leak in the tractor that it really screws up the whole works and the truck will derate and only allow like 10 psi of boost -
