if i just want to broker freight do I require an MC number ?
To get an MC number I would require a truck and wait 1 year to get on the load boards , correct ?
Is there a way to brokering freight on my own without waiting the year

Yes you need a freight broker MC number which is completely different than a motor carrier MC. You'll also need a $75,000 bond.

Thanks - but on sylectus load board it states that you have your authority for 1 year . So even if I get my freight broker MC do I have to wait one year to use sylectus?

You'd probably be better off being an agent for a broker who is already set up. Less cost up front.

Never heard of that requirement for a load broker before. Try DAT/Transcore and see what they say.

What kind of freight do you have? Sylectus network has some strict requirements if they say you need a year in business that's just how it is, actually that's not all that strict. On carrier side they have requirements like that also. They are not the cheapest either.
