Hi, I'm here trying to get help for hubby with his truck. He took it to Peterbilt today and they say no codes showing and they have no idea what-so-ever what is wrong. When he has cruise on, hitting the brake does not disengage it. The other problem (we think they are related) is the automatic tranny won't engage with the brake. He has to be able to get it to roll, just a little is all it takes.
Any ideas on what the problem is and how to fix it? Any help will be greatly appreciated.
Thanks, pam and Levy

Sounds like a brake pedal switch problem, but I would think they would know to check that at a dealer

We had a similar problem with our 2006, 387 with an Ultrashift automatic transmission. In that case we had a broken brake signal wire under the cab. That may not be where your problem is but your problem is definitely that the brake signal is not getting to the cruise control or the transmission controller. If they start by checking the brake light switch and then look at the wiring from there back, they should be able to find the problem.

What magoo said, blew my fuse on my tractor brake lights, the cruise will not disengage. Fuse panel is under the hood.
