Does CT do hair follicle testing? -
no CT the flat-bed division doesn't, when i started 2013 they didnt. you just have to piss in a cup drive around the block, pass a physical, and a few exercises to see if u pick up heavy stuff and pull hard enough, very easy anyone can do it. but the com-car tanker division does do hair follicle testing. they had pizza one day then subs the next and switches back and forth, nice hotel they put u in. even pay your gas to the orientation and pay u for orientation. it'll be on your check. CT will even pay you to sit at home to wait on a trainer if none is available. i waited 2+ weeks, paid. CT is a good company to start out with if u like to do flat bed.

What happened to this thread? There's a lot of good information in here, for wannabe's and people who are in/going through school!

I'm not sure what happened to it..I started way back when I was looking into driving.. got lots of good info from the posters on here.. happy to say it all paid off, I got on with Rinaudo a heavy haul company out of Jacksonville been with them since last may.. and couldn't be happier.
HauntedSchizo19 and skellr Thank this. -
That's awesome! Congrats on the new career, and your happiness with your company! Thank you for starting this thread; it has supplied a sufficient amount of extra information! I agree with you, this forum has a lot of great people on it, who help you out tremendously! Myself, I'm considering going flats with Melton, or tanker with Schneider. I'm leaning more towards Melton, to start out with anyway!
Stay safe out there! -
I would try them all!! I like tanker, but I like Heavy Haul better. Like Ice Cream, got a favorite.
HauntedSchizo19 Thanks this. -
I do plan to try them all. The only reason keeping me from doing tanker is the fact that there are not a lot of companies that hire recent CDL grads, hire 21 year old drivers, and my residency in NY; luckily, I live extremely close to the PA border, so it helps out a little bit. I've heard both good and bad things about Schneider, but mainly good with Melton. I, also, like a lot of things that Melton has to offer; so, I feel like it would be a good starter company, and even a company that I could work at for a few years. After I get some experience under my belt, I will be looking to move to tankers. I would be starting out at Superior Carriers, but the age requirement is 23 years old. Bummer. Thanks for the advice!
