I say this to everyone who Sees this post.
If you dont have the balls to do what you know you should then you have no right to complain about anything to do with the way you are treated by the government or trucking in general!
You can either stand for whats right.........or bend over and take it like a man! -
I agree with ya fully Thunder. For all of these guy's sitting here saying, well "if there is a strike then I'll support it and be all for it." Well saying that doesn't do any good. Stop talking about and put forth some effort to getting the ball rollin'. Hell, I guess it's gonna take someone like me who doesn't drive a truck yet to make a huge sign by hand and go sit on an exit ramp at our local truck stop and start protesting like hell! I'll pack a lunch and the whole bit. I guess it's gonna take one with a serious insight to the problem to go do this. If I weren't so #### broke now I would be on my way to Wal-mart to get the stuff to do it instead of sitting here ranting on in this message. But you guy's who say you'll join in if it happen's won't cut it. You need to make the effort by joining in and getting it started now. If most of the country is hearing March 24th then the 24th it'll be.
You guy's who drive for these big companies.... Uhhhh take into consideration about getting fired. If you guy's pull together and spread the word and all of you go on strike then they can't fire any of you. They would fold up by firing all of their driver's because they wouldn't be able to hire anymore fast enough to compensate. Just a little job security food for your brain. -
Just slow all trucks to min. interstate speed limit of 45 mph. the traffic jams alone would be breathtaking. your nor gettin a ticket, not losing your job and still making a big mess nationwide. -
I want to shutdown with the shutdown, if it happens, but how can we do it so we don't loose our jobs, I'm a company driver, and I belive we all have to shut down for the good of the country, O/O and company drivers, cuz with out my company I don't have a job, But I know a buddy of mine just got a memo that said "you shut down You just quit" so we have to find a way to get company driver to shut down safely.
-
If a O/O parks his truck in front of mine, then I can't go no where's, right Hint hint.
-
If you can't pull over, then slow down. Simple as that. I feel for the company drivers, we all need to stick together, but your job could go out the window with supporting this shutdown.
Sad thing is, the companies that don't support it, are the ones that will undercut the rates and haul cheap loads. -
Me and my TM got in to it one day, and he told me that drivers are a dime a dozen, I said so, trucking companys are to remember that, then I told him I was here before this company came in and I will be here when the next company come in so go ahead and get smart with me.
-
I will STAND and fight, I have to, I have my own truck, But shut it down and became a company driver for awhile, And my dad is a O/O to, and he shut his down and is working at wal-mart for awhile.

If you can't find some reason to be home at the time like the flu or some other sickness that keeps you from driving then you run by the book i mean every thing logged exactly like you do it and be sure you do a complete and total pre trip and if any thing is out of spec you make sure you take to a shop to get fixed and then you run completely legal speed limit and be sure and do your post trip. and if you get hung at a dock you log your time as on duty not driving and eat your hours up as should just to make sure they know if we all ran legal we would be out of hours every day we loaded or un loaded so just use your imagination and come up with ways to be a pain to the company but legal in doing it.
