On the online application it ask which one you are applying for.
H - Hazardous Materials
X - HAZMAT or Tanker
So here is my question and I did do a search first to see if I could get an answer but didn't see one.
I want a Hazardous endorsement for hauling hazmat on a dry van or flatbed. So do I just need the "H" endorsement or the "X" endorsement for it.
It is just confusing me since one is for Hazardous Materials and one is for HAZMAT. I don't see what the difference between Hazardous Materials and HAZMAT would be.
Thanks

X is hazmat AND tanker. If you're hauling totes, you'll need tanker as well
Redman30 Thanks this. -
Why not just get them all, tankers, doubles, hazmat.
The little place I went to learn asked me this "Once you start driving, when will you find the time.?"
After all if a better opportunity pops up, would it not be nice to have the license ready?
Besides the tanker test was real simple.Redman30 Thanks this. -
Just do everything. The only thing you have to pay for is hazmat. Doubles/triples and tanker are a free test.
And as fortycal said, if you get hazmat, you get an H. If you get tanker you get an N. If you get hazmat and tanker, you get an X....at least those are the letters in Texas. I'd assume it'd be the same all over since the DOT is supposed to be uniform nation wideRedman30 Thanks this. -
ok. thanks for the responses. I understand now.
