INternational no longer have the Pro Star, they changed it to Porn Star Series. You buy one and you get phu***d. lol
-
I would complain to management about you disparaging my cornfield Cadillac, oh pantless one, but this POS is on its way to the shop as we speak.
-
My employer is talking Pro Star. Can't see how it will work in my planet.
WS & Detroit. Good old fashioned horse sense. Haven't been on that planet in way, way too long. -
PB just wondering how your Macks are spec'ed and how are they working out for you?
-
Run good for a while then the Regen craps out with codes. The new KW with the Paccar motor run a lot better.
-
Really? How about make it reliable to make you money. Save the ride pimping for your Honda Civic. Like the guys who spend all that money on lights, chrome and big pipes.......and then spin out because they cheaped out on good winter tires and tryggs...
Amen, not4hire -
In my experience engine may well be the most important decision. I have seen a lot of tears in recent years from folks with Cummins engines. Unless they have figured a way to get the bugs out of them, I would warn you away from them. I wonder if anyone has any experience with Caterpillar trucks. I believe they come with a Cat c13 475 hp engine. Might be a good unit for heavy hall.
-
The Cat won't be strong enough for heavy haul, 475HP and 1700 lb/ft of torque. I think everyone is waiting to see someone else try it first to see if it will be a repeat of their 2008-2009 engines. Too many people got burned by them already.

Yes CAT really seems to have dropped the ball after they came out with the assert engine, of course nobody else seems to have done much better. I see that Kramer Cat over in Regina have some of their trucks rigged up with 550's so that engine must still be in production. I have no idea what the new ones are like, I'm still running an old 3406E and it'll probably wear me out before I wear it out. If I was twenty years younger I'd be tempted to try out one of those Cat trucks.
