Well i am trucking school through a local community college up here (tution was only $400). Its an 11 week course where we drive 4 days a week and have 1 day of week for class. I have 1 speeding ticket and 1 at fault accident in the last 3 years.will it be hard for me to get a job in the oil patch or do you think i would get a driving job right away? Do you think they would hire me?

I don't want to discourage you but, no experience and two major infractions on your driving record will make it very tough to get hired by anyone as a CDl driver. Your best bet may be to work for an oil services company where they need you to have a CDl but you will not be driving most of the time. You need 3-5 years of a clean driving record before your two infractions might not affect you. Some companies go back as far as 15 years to check your driving record. Good luck.JAL1972 Thanks this.

Hello mike I have a question regarding MBI i see that you worked for them, If you doent mind.
I keep hearing mixed reports about the company not to sure what to belive any more.
I got hired on as a water truck driver, I wanna know if they give you hours to work the HR lady says as long as your willing to work thers hours. What was your experiance? -
MBI is huge. They bought up a lot of companies last few years. There is plenty of hours. As long as you have the right attitude and willingness you can make it with any company. But with marks on your MVR it will be tough and you'll have to settle with a second rate outfit until they fall off. Insurance companies decide to insure a driver. If they say no the company has to say no.

Get a copy of your MVR and see for yourself what is on there. Of course they will let you know before hand if you are hired or not before you go anywhere

Yeah up in ND after your first year or 2 you can make 90-100K with MBI!

That type of money can be made before two years in the south.

I have dealt a little with MBI in Lignite. I have delivered new frac tanks to them. A few week age I had dropped a new crude oil trailer at the border to go to Canada. I was having fuel filter issues. I pulled into MBI and asked to borrow a bay in their shop to change filter. It was 25 below zero and windy. The shop foreman let me in and one of the mechanics asked if i needed any help. Very helpful. And much appreciated too. I guess what I'm getting at is they seem to be good people. Good luck.

I haven't heard anything bad about MBI. I think there is an owner op here running fresh frac water for MBI
